Wilton Giant Cupcake - 'Pin It or Forget It'

I was perusing the kitchen items at the local Goodwill the other day when I discovered the Wilton Giant Cupcake pan. I hit the jackpot! Not only was it only $4.99 and in great condition, but I love all things Wilton. It is my go to brand when I purchase baking products. Since I have never made a giant cupcake before, I decided to visit the Wilton website and see if their instructions would give me a 'Pin It' or if I should 'Forget It'.

 Since it was the 4th of July I thought it would be fun if I got creative and made a 4th of July themed cupcake. 

I enlisted some help from my girls. I think they were as excited as I was! 

We followed the directions perfectly! After we pulled the cakes from the oven the colors were so pretty. I will admit that the blue looked green, but I was okay with that. 

After the cakes were cooled, we iced them. We made sure to use more food coloring and pretty sprinkles to liven up the cake even more! 

We then carefully placed the top of the cupcake onto the bottom of the cupcake. After it was securely placed onto the bottom of the cupcake we stood back, scratched our head, looked at each other and just laughed! What the heck did we just create? Did we create a mushroom or maybe we created a rocket?! I am not a professional baker but the instructions seemed easy enough. Sadly, we had 3 adults working on this project and none of us could make it work.

    I have one of these giant cupcake makers, but not sure how much cake mix to put in, I've never used it! Your cupcake came out great!

    I want one giant cupcake makers. We used to make vegan cupcakes but haven't in a while. This may come in handy for my daughters' birthdays coming up in August and September.

    I love everything Wilton. This pan I have yet to get. Was a little unsure if I would like it. I love you got such a great deal on it and had such fun with your family. Very cute. Thanks for sharing.

    This would be a fun pan for my daughter who loves baking! She's wanting to make her brother's birthday cake this year, so I might just have to check on this as an option for her.

    What a great deal. I have a ton of Wilton items and can not wait until we close on our new home so I can get them out of storage. Our rental is too small for all of my toys.

    LOL! Half of the time I make something it looks unlike what it is supposed to look like. I bet a second round would result in a better looking cake. I bet it still tastes good!

    That is hilarious! I am never good at cakes. Am I the only person thinking that you could maybe use that cake pan for a naught bachelorette party? Sorry- I just had to say it!

    I've always thought the giant cupcake pans were cute. I rarely do well with the normal sized ones, though, so I should master those first.

    How can baking a giant cupcake turn out bad? :) At least you gave it a try and had fun doing it. Plus think of all the snacking after.
